Food related book:Food and Culture in Contemporary American Fiction / Final result

Hi. I'm going to share what I learned with the book I read in this class.

It had a lot of citation, and showed many example fictions, but because I haven't read them all, it wasn't easy for me to understand.

I thought it might tell me about some foods, but the book was more about culture.

The best part I liked is the part "'women are cooks whereas men are chefs' when men cook, they usually do it as a profession, and it is, certainly, their own choice; in contrast, cooking can be considered as a woman's responsibility...." (P.11)

As I wrote on the first entry, I am interested in gender issue, and this line, this explanation really convincing.

I thought there are descriptions about some food, but there wasn't so much, so I can't decide what food I want to try or avoid.

But American food always seem delicious, so I would like to try anything except food with cheese.

My classmates commented on my presentation that they couldn't understand the book's content, and some of them thought they don't want to read this book, so I regret that I should have been more prepared.

However, some of them are interested in the book, so I am happy about it.
