Olive Oil

Olive Oil has a very long history.

Throughout the various civilisations, the olive tree and olive oil have occupied pivotal positions in the agricultural economy of Mediterranean countries. 

The Minoans of Crete were among the first cultures to achieve prosperity on olive oil, and Crete continues to be an important olive production area to the present day.

Olive Oil came to Japan in 1908, Still, Shōdoshima is famous for it's home grown olive oil.

Olive oil was common in ancient Greek and Roman cuisine. But now, it's used around the world.

If you go to Italian restaurant, you are definitely going to eat this oil. It is really popular.

My mother sometimes uses olive oil and make "Somen with Olive Oil". It tastes like Italian Somen, and I liked it.

However, in my opinion, the sesame oil is more common in Japan.

I went to a nice traditional Japanese diner "Teishokuya Tsukiyoshi", so I'll share that with you.

It's located near Gakugei Daigaku Station.

A good balanced plate with many vegetables.

Food related book:Food and Culture in Contemporary American Fiction

The book I'm reading now is "Food and Culture in Contemporary American Fiction".

Reading so far, this book tells us about how food is used or thought in American Fiction.

Haven't read much of it, but I agreed to the part saying that cooking is thought to be woman's job, and when it comes to man who is cooking, it's not like household, it's more like professional thing. I think this is quite true, because in my house my mother did most of cooking too. Although she likes to cook, still, I think that's quite unfair thing. I'm always interested in gender issues so I'll try to keep my eyes on those topics in this book. This might be the reason I chose this book to read.

Hi, I found a nice curry restaurant around Shibuya, so I'll write about that.

The restaurant name is "Jinnan Curry"

It's located in Shibuya, near "Bunkamura".

This restaurant is specialized in curry, so most of the menu is curry rice.

You can order naan instead of rice too.

When you visit there in lunch time, they'll serve you salad or smoothie.

It's not going to take time to get there, so please try this curry rice in your university life:)

My friend, who goes to Waseda University told me nice place to eat chicken ramen!

"Torisoba Sampoichi" is located in Takadanobaba.
